I'm a big fan of customization; it gives the user a feeling of control over their activities, purchases, etc. Technology has the ability to take input and make it more precise than a human could, so I thought, for this project, I could combine the machine's ability to precisely control the amount of coffee, creamer, sugar, syrups, and foam for the perfect cup.
It plays on the traditional "truck-stop" coffee machines and updates the experience, making it something personal and fun.

The goal was to create something that would be fun to use, give reinforcement (by telling users what they actually made, based on defined parameters of what would create a macchiato, or a decaf caramel no-foam latte, or whatever), and also tell them they made a nice one!

The kiosk would be great in an environment where people are on the go at all hours of the day, such as at an airport or college dorm (or a truck stop). It would use a touch-screen interface with controls borrowed from the iPhone OS.
